The Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI) has supported the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics (KDBS) in the successful validation and adoption of new administrative Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aimed at strengthening institutional efficiency, project reporting, and digital communication systems within the Bureau as part of the organisational development drive of the KDBS.
The two-day validation and adoption workshop, led by the Statistician-General of Kaduna State and CEO of KDBS, Dr Bukar Baba Alhaji PhD, brought together stakeholders and partners to review and adopt critical operational procedures that will improve standardisation, accountability, and knowledge management across the institution.
During the session, participants validated SOPs focused on Project Reporting Standards and Social Media Strategies. The Project Reporting Standards SOP is designed to enhance institutional knowledge management by ensuring proper documentation of project activities, timelines, challenges, gaps, and adjustments throughout project lifecycles. The Social Media Strategies SOP will strengthen KDBS’ digital communication approach, improving the timely dissemination of accurate and reliable official statistics to the public.
Speaking during the workshop, stakeholders emphasised the importance of standardisation in building credible and reliable data systems that support evidence-based governance and informed decision-making.
The workshop was supported through the collaborative efforts of partners, including the Gates Foundation, NFTI and Value Bridge, reinforcing a shared commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s statistical ecosystem through innovation, institutional development, and data excellence.
