The Click-On Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Programme has announced the selection of 40 outstanding candidates for the 2024/2025 cohort. This marks the fourth edition of the prestigious fellowship, which continues to empower a new generation of data scientists equipped with the skills to drive social change and innovation in Kaduna State and beyond.
The selection process was rigorous, with thousands of applications received from across Nigeria. The chosen 40 will join a growing community of data science professionals who are making significant contributions to evidence-based decision-making and policy development in critical sectors.
Over the next six months, the DSFP 4.0 Fellows will engage in an intensive, hands-on training program designed to build their expertise in data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The fellowship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics and the Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI), two organizations at the forefront of driving data-driven governance and development in Nigeria.
The DSFP 4.0 Fellows will also benefit from a new partnership with DataCamp Donates, which will provide them with premium access to over 1,500 hours of data science courses taught by industry experts. This partnership aligns with NFTI’s mission to foster a knowledge-based ecosystem and ensure that our youth are equipped with the tools needed to succeed in the digital economy.
Selected candidates will have opportunities to put their knowledge to use in real-world situations during the fellowship, including initiatives that tackle some of the most critical public health issues facing Kaduna State. They will finish the program with improved technical skills and a thorough understanding of how data can be used to benefit the healthcare sector.
With these 40 people setting out on this life-altering path, the DSFP team is eagerly anticipating the difference they will make in the world. Following in the footsteps of past fellows, who have achieved great things in a variety of sectors, both nationally and globally, the DSFP 4.0 class is poised to do the same.
