The Kaduna State Government, in partnership with the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics (KDBS) and the Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI), has officially opened applications for the fifth cohort of the prestigious Click-On Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Programme (DSFP 5.0).
Since its inception in 2020, the fellowship programme, funded by the Gates Foundation, has trained 150 young professionals in data science and public sector innovation. The programme is widely recognized as one of Nigeria’s most impactful data capacity-building initiatives, designed to bridge the gap between technical skills and governance challenges in Kaduna State.
DSFP 5.0 will select 40 fellows from across Kaduna to undergo six months of intensive training and real-world placements. Fellows will work directly with government ministries, departments, and agencies to apply data to solve real problems.
Who Can Apply
To be eligible for DSFP 5.0, applicants must:
- Age: 18–35 years, except for exceptional cases.
- Location: Applicants must be residents of Kaduna State.
- Academic Qualifications: Graduate of Tertiary Institutions in any of the STEMS courses, particularly statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics, physical sciences, and health-related disciplines. Undergraduates within the STEM fields who are doing their 6-month to 1-year internships are also encouraged to apply.
- Basic Computer Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of using data and an understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Problem-Solving Skills
- Communication Skills (Written and Verbal English).
- Gender: During the selection process, 50% of gender balancing and distribution will be considered.
