The fifth cohort of the Click-On Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Program, DSFP 5.0, officially began classes this week at the Amina J. Mohammed SDG Data Lab, marking another milestone in Kaduna State’s growing data revolution.
Forty-five young professionals, drawn from over 5,400 applicants across the state, entered the training room with excitement and nervous anticipation on Monday, October 6th, 2025, as the fellowship entered its fifth year. Their first lesson set the tone for what promises to be an intense and transformative six months of learning and collaboration.
The fellows quickly connected with the energy of the class. “It was such an exciting start,” said Amina Isa, one of the participants. “The class was engaging, and the instructor made the session come alive.” Another fellow, Tony Shehu, admitted that “There’s so much to learn and unlearn, and I’m ready for it.”
Since its launch, the DSFP has trained more than 150 young people, many of whom now work as data analysts, researchers, and digital innovators across sectors such as health, education, and governance. The program has become one of Nigeria’s most respected models for building data talent, funded by the Gates Foundation and implemented by the Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation in partnership with the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics.
