In today’s digital age, digital platforms have become important channels for expressing oneself and connecting with others. However, for young women, navigating the online world can be challenging, as there’s a massive gender digital divide across the world. Another hurdle for women is the prevalence of cyberbullying, harassment, and online violence.

To commemorate International Women’s Day, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has partnered with the NFTI to sensitize 50 young women about digital literacy and social media. This partnership seeks to equip young women with the necessary skills to use digital media platforms safely and effectively, while also promoting digital literacy, financial literacy, and online safety skills.

Providing them with these skills will increase their opportunities for economic and social mobility.
