The Kaduna State Government, in partnership with the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics (KDBS), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), and the Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI), has announced the opening of applications for the fourth cohort of the prestigious Click-On Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Program (DSFP).
This program, housed under the Amina J. Mohammed SDGs Data Lab Project, is designed to equip young and passionate individuals with the necessary skills to leverage data for impactful social change. The fellowship aims to build a robust cadre of data analysts capable of supporting the Kaduna State Government in making well-informed decisions across various sectors, with a particular focus on health, education, and agriculture.
Since its inception in 2018, the DSFP has successfully trained three cohorts of fellows, who have gone on to make significant contributions both locally and globally. These fellows have played critical roles in improving healthcare delivery, enhancing educational outcomes, and optimizing agricultural practices through data-driven insights. The program’s rigorous curriculum and hands-on approach have made it one of the most respected data science fellowships in Africa.
Applications are open to young individuals between the ages of 18-35 years, who are eager to contribute to Kaduna State’s development. Prospective fellows will undergo a competitive selection process, which includes an online application, essay submission, video pitch, computer-based test, and a final interview with a selection panel. The program seeks individuals with a background in STEM fields such as statistics, computer science, engineering, economics, and health sciences.
The fellowship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience, engage with senior public officials, and contribute to real-world projects that have a direct impact on the community. Also, fellows will receive a monthly stipend to support their participation in the program.
Applications are now open and will close on June 10th, 2024. Interested candidates can apply online at www.datascience.click-onkaduna.ng.
