Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI) has commenced engagements with key stakeholders in Kaduna State to expand its Health Supply Chain Dashboard beyond essential medicines to include critical vaccine and cold chain equipment (CCE) data. This follows the successful development and deployment of the dashboard component focused on supply chain management for essential medicines, which was well received across the state’s public health system.

During a recent technical session, NFTI met with stakeholders from the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board, including the Director of Disease Control and Immunization, Mr. Hamza Ibrahim, the State Routine Immunization Officer, and representatives of various departments and agencies involved in immunization logistics and data management. The discussion focused on creating a new dashboard component that captures key indicators related to vaccines and cold chain operations across four primary areas: vaccines and diluents, devices, data tools, and CCE and waste management.

Stakeholders emphasized the importance of capturing data on stock levels, expiry dates, distribution patterns, and availability across all tiers—zonal, LGA, and facility levels. They provided insight into existing data sources, both paper-based and digital, and helped NFTI better understand the current reporting structures and how to design a pipeline that integrates existing formats into the digital dashboard framework. While much of the current data remains in non-digital formats, the state shared strategies and templates that would aid in aligning manual reporting tools with the proposed digital system.

NFTI reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Kaduna State Government in strengthening data-driven decision-making in health through inclusive stakeholder engagement, system digitization, and real-time analytics.
