The Click-On Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Program (DSFP) continues to deliver enriching learning experiences through its guest lecture series. On Friday, March 20, 2025, the Statistician General of Kaduna State and Chief Executive Officer of the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics, Baba Bukar Alhaji, Ph.D., delivered an insightful session on “Integrating Statistical Systems for the Health Sector.”

The session emphasized the crucial role of data and statistics in shaping health policies, improving service delivery, and driving decision-making at the state level. Dr. Bukar highlighted how an integrated data-driven system can enhance healthcare accessibility, optimize resource allocation, and provide real-time insights for better governance.

Fellows had the opportunity to engage with the Statistician General, discussing challenges and opportunities in the use of data analytics to improve health systems. Key takeaways from the session included the importance of standardized statistical systems in the health sector.

The Guest Lecture provided fellows with a practical perspective on the real-world application of data science in governance and reinforced DSFP’s commitment to preparing young professionals for high-impact careers.

As the DSFP 4.0 cohort advances through the program, the insights shared by the Statistician General will serve as a guiding framework for their data-driven projects and future contributions to society.

Stay tuned for more updates on the DSFP 4.0 journey as we continue to empower young data scientists for sustainable development.
