The Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation, NFTI, recently organized a one-day planning activity as part of the ongoing implementation of the Human Resource Health Management Information System (HRHMIS) for the Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Board (SPHCB). By developing an integrated record system and business process mapping of various HRH business rules, this project, funded by a consortium of donor organizations, seeks to revolutionize the board’s human resource health management.
The planning session brought together senior-level managers and key Human Resource for Health officers. It served as an essential platform to comprehend strategic continuums and discuss HRH performance issues that require insights for resolving HRH performance pain points, aligning with the existing HRH Policy, Strategy, and Plans in the state.
The outcomes of the planning session were designed to address the following objectives:
a. Encourage the engagement of key stakeholders within the State Primary Healthcare Board (SPHCB) to pinpoint strategic HRH performance challenges and generate necessary insights from the state’s HRH datasets.
b. Construct a list of proposed policy questions and program planning questions that focus on strategic HRH priorities to be answered at the SPHCB level.
c. Determine the most effective approach for the ongoing HRHMIS implementation, identify the key components of HRHMIS to be prioritized, and outline core reports to be generated as part of the implementation roadmap.
d. Validate desk review findings and process workflow mapping.
The planning session represented a crucial step in the ongoing HRHMIS implementation process. Natview Foundation remains dedicated to enhancing HRH management through the system, anticipating a significant improvement in operations and strategic decision-making at the Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Board.
