In a continued effort to nurture data talent and drive evidence-based policy in Nigeria, the Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI) has engaged 11 fellows from the 2024/2025 Click-On Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Programme (DSFP 4.0) as Intern Junior Data Analysts.
The young talents have been onboarded to support NFTI’s growing portfolio of data-driven initiatives in Kaduna State, particularly in partnership with the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics (KDBS) and the State Ministry of Health. As part of their assignments, the Junior Analysts will work on projects that strengthen the use of data for decision-making across the critical health sector.
The Junior Analysts will be embedded across various teams within NFTI to contribute to real-time analytics, data cleaning, reporting automation, capacity strengthening efforts, and many more. Their deployment is aimed at enhancing the state’s ability to use timely, accurate, and actionable data to improve public services and accelerate development outcomes.
You will recall that 40 fellows successfully graduated from the DSFP 4.0 cohort, following six months of rigorous training in data science, machine learning, GIS, and data engineering. The programme, funded by the Gates Foundation, has been instrumental in equipping young Nigerians with the technical and problem-solving skills needed to contribute meaningfully to public sector transformation.
Since the inception of the fellowship in 2020, NFTI has consistently offered post-fellowship pathways to high-performing alumni through internships, analyst roles, and strategic collaborations with government agencies. This tradition reinforces NFTI’s commitment to youth empowerment and digital skills development, and ensures that investments in training translate to tangible impact in communities.
We warmly welcome them to the team and wish them a fulfilling experience as they help drive Africa’s data revolution.
