NFTI recently held a stakeholder engagement session aimed at validating key healthcare financing indicators for the Kaduna State Health Care Financing (HCF) Dashboard. The session convened representatives from the State Primary Health Care Board, the Kaduna State Ministry of Health, the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA), and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), among others.
This critical meeting served as a platform to review and validate proposed data indicators and elements that will feed into the state’s HCF dashboard. Participants assessed the relevance, accuracy, and completeness of the indicators, identified data gaps, and proposed improvements for standardization. In addition, discussions emphasized the need to expand certain monitoring tools to capture broader data elements that reflect the state’s health financing realities more comprehensively.
To further enrich the validation process, state representatives shared existing Annual Operational Plan (AOP) templates, budgeting tools, and monitoring frameworks currently being used at both the national and sub-national levels. These documents served as reference points to ensure that the Kaduna HCF dashboard aligns with wider policy objectives and best practices in public health financing and accountability.
The engagement reaffirmed the state’s commitment to strengthening data systems and ensuring that resource allocation and policy decisions are informed by reliable and standardized financial data. Natview, in turn, reiterated its dedication to supporting the government’s effort in building a robust and functional dashboard that enhances transparency, efficiency, and progress toward universal health coverage in Kaduna State.
