Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI) has commenced fieldwork for the Longitudinal Study (LS) 2.0, marking the transition from preparatory activities to on-the-ground data collection across selected Local Government Areas in Kaduna State.
The field exercise, which began two weeks ago, is currently taking place across Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Chikun, Makarfi, Kubau LGA. The study aims to generate continuous facility-level insights that support evidence-based decision-making, strengthen health system performance, and improve service delivery within primary health care facilities.
The rollout of field activities follows a series of preparatory trainings conducted for Data Champions drawn from the talent pool of the NFTI Community of Practice. These individuals were equipped with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to carry out facility assessments using standardized digital tools.
As part of the ongoing fieldwork, the Data Champions are visiting selected Primary Health Clinics (PHCs) and Health Centres (HCs) across the participating LGAs. During these visits, they conduct structured assessments designed to capture key operational and service readiness indicators within the facilities.
Supporting the field teams is the Situation Room, which serves as the central coordination point for monitoring the exercise. Submitted data from the field is received, reviewed, and validated to ensure completeness and consistency. This process enables the team to maintain strong data quality standards while providing timely guidance to field teams where necessary.

Through the combined efforts of trained Data Champions, digital data collection tools, and the Situation Room validation process, the Longitudinal Study 2.0 continues to build a structured system for generating credible and actionable health data.
As the exercise progresses, the insights generated from the field are expected to contribute to strengthening data-informed planning and monitoring within the primary health care system across Kaduna State.
