The Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI) recently participated in a four-day Integrated Data Control Room (IDCR) for District Health Information Software (DHIS 2) and an electronic data quality assurance (e-DQA) workshop held at the Fabs Hotel in Zaria, Kaduna State. The Lafiya group organized the workshop, which was designed to institutionalize the Integrated Data Control Room (IDCR) platform used to check errors on DHIS 2. The workshop also aimed to improve data-driven decision-making for better healthcare service delivery across the state.

During the workshop, a representative from Onward Analytics provided an in-depth explanation of the IDCR platform’s features and functionalities. The presentation included details on the transition from the 2013 to the 2019 version of the platform. The representative highlighted the differences in data element headers between the two versions, ensuring participants understood the changes necessary for accurate data analysis moving forward.

The workshop was attended by representatives from the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics (KDBS), the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board (SPHCB), and the Lafiya team. The collaborative environment encouraged valuable discussions and knowledge sharing among attendees.

The NFTI’s specific role in the workshop was to observe the system being built, understand its components and processes, ensure its long-term viability, and ensure deliverable information for seamless data transfer.

The IDCR platform’s institutionalization represents a significant step forward in Kaduna State’s pursuit of better healthcare services. Healthcare providers can make more informed decisions by leveraging accurate and reliable data, resulting in better patient care and overall health outcomes. At NFTI, we will continue to provide technical support to improve health facilities around the state.
