The Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation participated actively in the 2021 edition of the Kaduna Investment Summit tagged KadInvest 6.0. The event themed ‘toward a sustainable knowledge-based economy’ brought together key industry players from around Nigeria and the world to discuss ways to move the state forward and also witness the launch of the State Development Plan 2021 – 2025 which hopes to transform Kaduna into a knowledge-based economy.
NFTI is working with the government of Kaduna State to model data for evidence-based decision-making in key sectors of the state’s economy.
Speaking on the ‘Role of Donor Agencies in Building a Sustainable Knowledge-Based Economy’ during a panel session at the event, the Executive Director of NFTI, Mr. Nuradeen Maidoki, stated that ‘in the knowledge economy, talent provides opportunities beyond the local borders. The knowledge economy gives everyone a wide range of talent pool that anyone anywhere can explore and provides local solutions to global issues.’
The ED mentioned how the digital skills development program and the data science fellowship program have been really successful in building the capacity of young people in the state. He also mentioned in detail how the BMGF-funded Data Lab Project has impacted the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics activities and output, NFTI’s collaborations with IBM Research in Kenya, and other programs of the foundation.
