The 2025/2026 Click-On Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Programme (DSFP) 5.0 has reached a major milestone with 5,430 applications received for its fifth cohort. The program, implemented by the Kaduna State Government in partnership with the Gates Foundation, the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics (KDBS), and the Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI), continues to attract young professionals eager to use data to drive governance and improve lives.

Launched on June 10, 2025, the application portal invited residents of Kaduna State between the ages of 18 and 40 with an interest in data science, technology, and public service to apply. Applicants were required to complete Phase 1 of the process, which includes submitting biodata and an essay.

The application process is structured in four competitive phases:

Phase 1: Biodata & Essay Submission (June 10 – July 25)

Phase 2: Video Applications (for shortlisted candidates only, August 4 – 8)

Phase 3: Computer-Based Testing (CBT) (August 23)

Phase 4: One-on-One Interviews (August 26 – 29)

Each phase is designed to assess the applicant’s potential to thrive in the rigorous six-month fellowship, which blends technical training with real-world data projects in partnership with MDAs across the state.

Following the essay review period (July 28–August 1), shortlisted candidates will be invited to upload a 2-minute video describing their motivations and what they hope to achieve through the DSFP.

Now in its fifth edition, the DSFP has trained over 150 fellows who have gone on to contribute to critical projects in health, education, agriculture, and social protection. Many alumni now serve as data analysts, project managers, researchers, and decision support officers within the Kaduna State Government and the country at large. Beyond Nigeria, several fellows have become global ambassadors for data-driven development, collaborating with international organizations and leading impact-driven initiatives worldwide.

DSFP 5.0 aims to continue this tradition by enhancing the state’s ability to make informed decisions based on solid evidence through a rigorous selection process, access to a top-notch learning facility, excellent instructors, and a practical curriculum designed to achieve tangible outcomes. At its core, the program remains committed to strengthening Kaduna State’s ability to make smarter, data-backed decisions that truly serve its people.
