In a gesture of partnership and progress, Pathfinder International and the Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI) recently paid a courtesy visit to Hajiya Umma Kaltume Ahmed, the Commissioner for Health in Kaduna State. The purpose of this visit was to introduce the transformative Geo-ST4R project, set to bring innovative enhancements to healthcare in the region.
The meeting, held at the commissioner’s office, was a cordial exchange attended by the dedicated teams from Pathfinder and NFTI. Also present was the Director-General of the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Agency (KADCHMA), adding valuable insights to the discussions.
During the visit, the team introduced the Geo-ST4R project and explained its potential to leverage advanced geospatial technology for improved Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) microplanning. The Commissioner expressed gratitude for the visit, acknowledging the significance of innovative solutions in addressing healthcare challenges. She welcomed the prospect of heightened decision-making capabilities through geospatial insights.
The Director-General of KADCHMA contributed insights on aligning the Geo-ST4R project with existing health data management frameworks in the state. The conversation explored practical integration approaches, emphasizing the need for a seamless and sustainable implementation.

The Geo-ST4R project, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, hopes to improve Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) microplanning. This four-year project is designed to utilize state-of-the-art geospatial technology for RMNCH microplanning. Through the integration of geographic information systems, satellite imagery, and data analytics, the initiative seeks to improve decision-making processes, streamline resource allocation, and bring about a transformative impact on healthcare in Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, and Lagos.
