The Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI) recently organized talks with senior management officials from the Kano State Bureau of Statistics and important players within the state’s health ecosystem, marking a significant step forward in improving healthcare data diagnostics in Kano State. This is where updates on the implementation process and results from in-depth desk reviews, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and fieldwork done as part of the Kano Operational Data Diagnostics project were shared.
The engagements were structured into two distinct sessions: one with the Kano State Bureau of Statistics and another with the health Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). Notable participants included representatives from esteemed organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Solina, and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), among others.
During the discussions, the NFTI team shared detailed insights and analyses gleaned from a thorough examination of existing data sources and direct interactions with key stakeholders in the healthcare sector. These insights shed light on critical aspects of healthcare data management, utilization, and gaps within the current framework.
NFTI aims to accelerate data-driven decision-making processes and advance innovations in healthcare service delivery by promoting cooperative engagements and knowledge-sharing sessions. The project aims to leverage its stakeholders’ combined knowledge and resources to provide customized solutions that meet the particular difficulties the Kano State healthcare data ecosystem faces.
We are dedicated to bringing about significant change and supporting long-lasting advancements in Kano State’s healthcare data management and utilization. Through ongoing collaboration and innovation, the project aims to fully utilize healthcare data to influence policy decisions, increase service delivery, and ultimately improve health outcomes for all Kano State residents and beyond.
