The 2026/2027 cohort will undergo six months of intensive training in data science and emerging technologies, focusing on applying data-driven solutions to Primary Healthcare challenges in Kaduna State.

The Kaduna State Government has announced the selection of 40 fellows for the 2026/2027 cohort of the Click-On Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Programme (DSFP 6.0), marking what has been described as the programme’s most competitive selection year since its inception.

The successful candidates emerged from a rigorous, multi-stage selection process that assessed applicants’ skills, potential, motivation, and readiness to contribute to data-driven development. From thousands of applications, 182 candidates progressed to the interview stage, competing for one of the 40 available places.

The selection reflects the growing interest in data science and emerging technologies among young people and the importance of identifying promising talent equipped to apply these capabilities to public-sector challenges.

DSFP 6.0 will provide the selected fellows with six months of intensive training at the Amina J. Mohammed SDGs Data Lab in Kaduna. The programme combines technical instruction, mentorship, collaboration, and practical engagement with real-world data challenges.

Fellows will develop capabilities across data science and emerging technologies, with opportunities to explore areas including artificial intelligence and machine learning, geographic information systems (GIS), data engineering, and data visualization.

Beyond technical proficiency, the fellowship seeks to strengthen young professionals’ capacity to translate data into actionable insights that support evidence-informed decision-making and improved public service delivery in Primary Healthcare.

The programme’s focus on health data systems and Primary Healthcare Center readiness reflects the potential of data and technology to support stronger health systems, improve planning, and inform decisions about the allocation of public resources.

The selection of the 40 fellows followed a structured process designed to identify candidates with the aptitude, commitment, and potential to benefit from the intensive programme.

With nearly 182 applicants reaching the interview stage, the selection committee had to identify candidates who demonstrated readiness to learn, solve problems, and apply emerging technologies to practical challenges.

The competitive process underscores the fellowship’s commitment to maintaining high standards as it continues to develop talent capable of contributing to Kaduna State’s data and technology ecosystem.

The newly selected fellows will begin their journey with an induction scheduled for Monday, 12 October 2026, ahead of classes beginning on Monday, 19 October 2026.

For Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation (NFTI), the programme represents an ongoing commitment to developing talent and strengthening the relationship between data, technology, and public-sector decision-making.

As the new cohort prepares to begin training, DSFP 6.0 carries forward the programme’s ambition to nurture skilled professionals who can help turn data into evidence, evidence into better decisions, and better decisions into meaningful impact.
